With the introduction of a new Manu comes a change in the growth of the human race. Slowly the evolution of humanity will move under the new guidance through the Chakras of the Manu, The Great Man, advancing around every 7000 or 8000 years, sometimes a little longer. Each chakra has distinct characteristics and introduces a new awakening within the race. These are called sub-races or root races in some schools.
The chakras deal with the elements in order. From below, the first chakra governs Earth with the emphasis on separation, food and shelter. The second chakra, the sex chakra or Svadisthana, is governed by Water and that represents coalescence, clinging together, and growing awareness of power over others. The second chakra is a reflection of the Heart chakra and is known as the Sun in the underworld. The third chakra is governed by Fire and Light. Here the focus is on dominance and ‘the great man’ cultures, heroes who stand at the centre of world affairs, however small that world may be.
The Heart Chakra is the central Sun of the system and seat of Deepest Consciousness. It is governed by Air and Feeling. The 4th root race of the current Manu includes the Dravidian speaking people among others. The understanding is that of service to the whole in the realisation that all our individual needs are met. Along with this understanding goes the recognition that the world is the expression of, and permeated by, the Divine. When one performs a service to another it is not an act of subservience, but a gift to the Divine expression manifested in that other. The greeting ‘Namaskar’ ‘I bow to the Divine within’ is the greeting of this group.
The 5th race is the race of Adam’s apple. The 5th, or throat, chakra. It is exemplified by Vanity, ruled by Venus. 5th race is exemplified by an exaggerated sense of self importance. It includes the Aryan and the Jewish nations.
It separates God from Creation, emphasises Male dominance with an absence or suppression of the Divine feminine, and has led to gross materialism. It relegates the Sacred to something distant and bound by ritual, no longer a living presence in our lives. Rather the spiritual understanding is an intellectual one. It has all the characteristics of mental activity based on self-centredness. It is exploitative and argumentative. It is evident in the commercial world as well as in the world of politics and religion. Now the notion of service to others is lost beneath the approach – what can I get out of this. In place of service comes subservience and toadying and loss of a sense of noblesse oblige. In place of abundance comes the notion of exchange and barter. No longer service to the other but to the self attendant upon which goes the loss of goodwill and an increasing sense of poverty.
Exclusivity is its major feature. Older cultures do not suffer from this and extend their concern to the least of the others as well as to family and community. Community has a real meaning in this understanding, This quality is inherited from the Solar aspect of the Heart Chakra.
The outcome of the 5th root race has been Materialism and the exploitation of anything and everything for personal gain. Characterised by Colonialism, Imperialism and ‘scientific’ Empiricism. 5th race has a single source, answer, or possibility. Along with this we see the degeneration of philosophy from living wisdom to word games with little to commend them. We see it manifesting in those with imperialist designs in the world today, as the race dies out, and those struggles for land grabbing which are the faltering attempts of the race to move on. The claim made that ‘this is the way of the world’, is only ‘the way of the world’ under the dominion of the 5th race mentality. I Am is the great claim of the 5th race, losing sight of the Divine which gives rise to All.
