Driving home from shopping yesterday exhausted from the pain of walking about for so long from the arthritis I have been suffering. The wind picked up leaves as I drove.
On one occasion an autumn leaf flew up over the windscreen making me jump backwards as it plummeted towards me. There was something shiny about it. At first I thought it was an insect and insect wings riding on the leaf. As I drove the image registered more fully and I saw it was the fiery face of an air sprite smiling and laughing full of glee as it surfed the wind on its leaf carriage up and across the roof of the car. Laughing at the shock it had caused me. Not maliciously but full of fun. Elementals love to play. Something many humans forget as they grow older.
I was grateful for the introduction despite the initial shock it had brought me. How can one not be grateful for the vision of a being so filled with love and joy.
