For any person who accepts the reality of reincarnation the idea of sectarianism and any sense of supremacy of one tradition over another is meaningless.
This is to challenge the notion of a chosen people. It is a relatively common thought, with many cultures referring to themselves as the humans or the people.
Among the Germanic tribes are those who call themselves Gods, or Goths, and the Youths or Jutes. To offer a couple of examples. These are by no means exhaustive.
This supremacy notion goes further, even dividing society itself. Country people are often seen as dim-witted or stupid by those living in towns. This is common across the globe. Those who live in cities learn to mistrust one another. Unlike those who learn to be self-reliant and trusting in Nature.
Among the common discriminations are physical differences – red hair, black skin, crippled bodies. It would appear to offend the aesthetic sense we inherently hold.
But this is not to explore the nature of prejudice, so much as to say life after life we have been in one or other of these situations, even including animal incarnations. This aspect of the incarnation sequence of the souls is often denied by those who hold a humano-centric view of the world. It is simple small-minded. The Soul is greater than the human, but people forget that means it includes the animal kingdom.
Christianity and the notion of progress and evolution, have promoted the idea of human supremacy. Not all cultures hold the idea that humans are separate from Nature and by virtue of this separation superior to other life forms. Indeed many do not.
But mankind has landed on the Moon, goes up the cry. Meanwhile people have so little social conscience that they kill and threaten each other on an individual and a national level.
