Having watched the whole series of Secret Service with Gemma Arterton and five out of 6 episodes of Citadel I have to say I prefer Secret Service despite the Hollywood money that has obviously been spent on Citadel.
Like many Hollywood extravaganzas Citadel relies on violence and exotic scenery, as well as intrigue. A bit tiresome really.
Something I find unnecessary in Citadel is the full 180 degree rotation of the camera. It is an effect which is at once disorienting and intensely annoying – to me at least. Not to mention the promotion of Priyanka Chopra’s sexual appeal. A bit tasteleess really, particularly in the opening scene of the series.
