What goes around

I originally titled this ‘More Corurption from FIFA’.

A red card means sending off for the match, and suspension from the next game. Unless you happen to be a key player for the US, hosts of the world cup, apparently.

A number of questionable decisions have marred the pleasure of this tournament.

Until FIFA recognises that integrity is an essential element to enjoyment they will continue to lose the favour of fans.

It is plain for all to see.

ALL SEE.

It was at the proud request of POTUS that the FIFA implementation of the red card was suspended. Cheat by any means until you win, apparently being the rule of the day.

The entire football world stood aghast at the decision.

What the President does not understand is the disadvantage it gives the team to have the rest of the world looking askance at them. Sad.

It would appear I am right in my assessment. After 7 minutes of play Belgium went ahead. Before 20 minutes were up two Belgian players were violently injured one having to go off. He appeared later on the sidelines walking on crutches with his knee in a brace. A very sorry sight. This could mean the end of his career as a footballer. This is not sport, it is naked aggression. The behaviour did improve later in the game, even if the skill level did not.

If you can’t play by the rules get out if the kitchen

Despite the interference from the Pres, Balugan – the red carded player – hardly got a look in. The team seemed hesitant as if embarrassed, played relatively dirty, and were totally outclassed by Belgium. Full Time result Belgium 4 USA 1 – the result of a penalty early in the game.

‘Cheats never prosper’ comes to mind.
