One advantage to waking in the middle of the night, in too much pain to sleep, is that I get to watch tv channels i would not otherwise have discovered. Among tbe gems found on Sky Arts are two of exceptional genius.
The first I discovered was the Cirque du Soleil. Releasing expectations of what Circus entertainment is, breaking out of limitations. Defying gravity with extravaganzas of great skill and colour. Spectacular. Beautifully filmed.
The other is the man who has done more for uniting the human family, breaking down barriers between nationalities, rich and poor, classical music and the majority of people. His sense of fun and joy is completely contagious. Wonderful man.
